Matt Meyer, an outstanding relationship-minded IT leader, has been named associate vice president for global IT operations in the Office of the CIO and Vice President for Information Technology at Northeastern University. In this new role, Meyer will report to the CIO and Vice President for Information Technology effective April 6, 2022.
Meyer will serve as ITS’s dedicated technology ambassador to the university’s network locations and colleges. He’ll lead efforts to align digital transformation across the global network, developing and maintaining close working and strategic relationships throughout the institution. Meyer will be a solution provider and a problem solver, consulting with community members to bring forward ITS supported and digital-first solutions to teaching, learning, research, and work needs.
As a member of the ITS Senior Leadership Team, Meyer will ensure that the voices, perspectives, and needs of all locations help guide the ITS roadmap and are top of mind among the other members of the leadership team. He’ll develop and maintain a strong connection between all campus locations and the Office of the CIO, while effectively and clearly communicating the ongoing and evolving university digital strategy.
Meyer has spent over 13 years building relationships and solutions as a leader in higher education, and 16 years before that in private industry helping organizations develop digital solutions. For the past five years, he’s served as executive director, Academic Technology Solutions in IT Services at University of Chicago. At UChicago, Meyer collaborates with campus partners and faculty to set strategic leadership and direction for academic technologies and introduce tools and services that create heightened learning experiences for all.
“Northeastern’s growth strategy is unique, and I’m grateful to Cole for offering me this dynamic and exciting opportunity to help support the university’s expanding global network and vision,” said Meyer. “In this new role with Team ITS, I’m looking forward to establishing relationships across the university, bringing people together to help solve problems, and introducing new and exciting solutions at scale.”
I’m thrilled to welcome Matt to ITS. He has extensive experience in developing and sustaining meaningful relationships in both higher education and business alike, and will be an outstanding thought partner for Northeastern’s global expansion and growth.
